About the Role

We’re looking for a Specification Sales Manager to develop and secure specification-based sales within the construction market across the north of the country.

You’ll be the specialist for Architects and Interior Designers looking to specify hard flooring on a variety of projects. Once specified its over to the construction companies, House builders, fit out companies, contractors and sub-contractors in order to close the loop and gain the business.

 You’ll be looking at a wide variety of projects from Residential buildings through to commercial spaces, hotels and shop fit outs. 

Whilst BMK has a strong and enviable reputation in the market today – there’s no room for complacency. Our goal is to grow business with new and existing customers and explore fresh markets within the hard flooring sector.

As the Construction market evolves, your role will be to keep at the forefront of this and all new projects – spotting and leveraging opportunities to grow sales with existing products and customers plus proactively creating openings to sell in products and bring new customers on board.

 Feeding knowledge on product and trends into the Head of Business and supply chain to ensure the correct products are sourced and stocks managed according to demand requirements. 

You’ll have all the tools to do the job along with a great delivery support and top-class customer service. 

You’ll need to leverage your commerciality, customer relationship building skills, tenacity and drive to build the brand and grow the business across the North of England. 

 

Specifically, you’ll be responsible for

  • Managing the BMK pipeline and order book to deliver monthly sales revenue targets. 
  • Building relationships with new and existing customers; advising and influencing them on the best solutions to grow BMK sales.
  • Cleverly utilising technical knowledge and solution selling to introduce customers to new products and ranges and drive incremental sales. 
  • Delivering customer pricing and terms to reflect the complexity of products, price points, volumes and credit terms.

About You

We’re looking for a proven Specification Sales Manager who shares our passion for the construction markets including fit-out, refurbishment and residential development. 

You’ll need to have the gravitas to open doors with new and existing customers and deliver results through your consultative selling skills.

A positive can-do attitude to take this excellent product and brand in not only existing, but also new markets to ensure the future success of the business. 

 It’s a big role, covering the whole of the North of England, so you’ll be organised, structured and conscientious in how you approach the role ensuring you are spending sufficient time with existing and new customers as well as attending regular team meetings and reporting on the business pipeline and order book. 

In particular you’ll bring:

  • Specification sales experience with A&D community
  • Experience working with regional housebuilders & contractors
  • Sales and commercial negotiation skills at a senior level
  • Extensive knowledge of the construction market
  • A well-developed “hunter sales” mentality
  • A passion for exploring new opportunities to build business in new markets
  •  A full, clean Driving Licence
