About the Role

A rare opportunity has arisen to join our team at Central Flooring Distributors for a Sales Representative covering the Staffordshire, Derbyshire, Cheshire and North Wales areas. We are a leading national specialist floorcovering distributor supplying to both the retail and commercial sectors.

Preferably with previous sales experience, however this is not essential as a detailed training programme will be available, and we encourage existing employees to apply.

You will inherit a significant customer base of Independent Retailers and Contractors and with the goodwill and relationships enjoyed by Central Flooring Distributors. Whilst we have a strong and enviable reputation in the market today – there’s no room for complacency. The goal is to grow business with new and existing customers. 

As retail and market trends evolve, your role will be to keep at the forefront of those – spotting and leveraging opportunities to grow sales with existing products and customers; and proactively creating openings to list new products and bring new customers on board. 

You will have all the tools to do the job: the broadest and best floor covering ranges, great delivery and top-class customer service. From there it’s down to you! You will need to leverage your commerciality, customer relationship building skills, tenacity and drive to build and grow the area.

 

Specifically, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Managing your area to deliver sales revenue targets. 
  • Building relationships with new and existing customers; advising and influencing them to grow flooring sales for both them and you. 
  • Cleverly utilising sampling and displays to introduce customers to new products and ranges and drive incremental sales. 
  • Managing customer pricing quotations and terms to reflect the complexity of products, price points, volumes and credit terms.

About You

We’re looking for a sales professional who shares our passion for the floor covering sector; its products and trends. You’ll need to have the tenacity, enthusiasm and can-do attitude to take this amazing range and build both excitement and commitment in your customers. 

It’s a pretty large geography – so you’ll be organised, structured and conscientious in how you approach your territory and journey planning, reporting and follow-up activity. 

Being out on the road means you’ll need to be self-reliant and self-motivated, but we’d like you to be a great team player too! We have a strong team ethos and encourage all colleagues to work together to provide the best experience for our customers. 

In particular you’ll bring:

  • Sales success – in a retail, wholesale or other customer-facing role. 
  • An impressive track record of driving sales via a consultative-selling approach. 
  • You’ll ideally have some experience in a floor coverings, soft furnishings, DIY or home-related sector – or an interest you’d like to develop. 
  • Strong organisation skills and experience of working with CRM or similar systems. 
  • A strong work ethic and a passion for exploring new opportunities to build business with your customers.  
  • A full, clean Driving Licence.
