About the Role

To be responsible for the planning of resources and routes leading to the most effective delivery of services and maintaining excellent levels of communication with our internal customers and colleagues from across the Headlam network

Specifically, you’ll be responsible for

  • Plan daily schedules (Using Paragon routing software)
  • Liaise with all sites to produce achievable transport plans on a daily basis
  • Schedule work centrally using various planning systems
  • Maintain regular dialogue with regional transport offices and sales offices
  • Manage relationship with transport offices and sales offices to ensure allocated workload is delivered in line with agreed SLA
  • Share knowledge to improve service performance
  • Identify issues & provide resolutions quickly so not to impact on performance ensuring appropriate communication where necessary
  • Create accurate daily management reports
  • Develop KPI information for ongoing monitoring of the operations transport solution
  • Run model scenarios for UK wide transport networks to identify operational improvements and new opportunities
  • Support the operation with contract projects, I.T. implementation and any other projects
  • Deal with all ad hoc management requests
  • Embrace and live a customer service culture within the team

 

About You

This role will require the following;

  • Experience in a transport & planning environment
  • Experience of computerised planning and scheduling systems (ideally Paragon but not essential)
  • Good working knowledge of driver’s hours legislation
  • CPC qualified or willing to work towards this qualification (Desireable)
  • A logical and analytical approach
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
  • Strong Computer Skills (Microsoft Office)
  • Ability to work using your own initiative
  • Ability to prioritise and work to strict deadlines
